Do you ever drive around rockin’ out to “Paradise City” or “Sweet Child of Mine”, wishing that you were old enough to have seen them live in concert? The band that once rattled the entire world with their unique hard sound, melodic riffs, and crying screams of Axl’s unmistakable voice, is set to play in six cities, in much smaller venues than they had ever played in their prime. Axl wants to remind everyone that they too had to work their way up the carnivorous music chain. With new members of the band replacing the legendary Slash, Duff McKagan, and Izzy Stradlin,Guns N’ Roses will try to recreate their most famous concert, ‘Live At The Ritz’ (1998).
2/10/12- New York, NY.- Roseland Ballroom
2/12/12- New York, NY. Terminal 5
2/15/12- New York, NY. Webster Hall (The Ritz)
2/19/12- Chicago, IL. House of Blues
2/23/12- Silver Spring, MD. The Fillmore Silver Spring
2/24/12- Atlantic City, NJ. House of Blues
Will they live up to their past lacking the three very icons that once formed this 4-legged rock monster? It all depends on Axl and how he performs. Of course they will never be the GNR we know and love them for, but the new band’s music doesn’t sound that bad. They do a decent job of replicating the instrumental aspect, but as I mentioned above Axl’s voice really differs from show to show. Sometimes his vocal range is as incredible as ever and others its hard to tell who is even singing, but hell, we like to keep things positive around here.
From Live Music City, high hopes!
