Wild Belle- “It’s Too Late”

What an amazing sound these two have created… that’s Elliot and Natalie Bergman of Wild Belle whom I was referring to. You can hear quite the combination of genres mixed together in this one song. Seems like they’d be great to see live, and I can only imagine that everyone’s off their seats, dancing away… Keep an eye open for more good music from Wild Belle, since they just signed a 3-album contract with Columbia Records. Balkan Beat Box releases new uplifting song/video

Bringing you another musical project that I encountered during my time in Tel Aviv, Israel. Balkan Beat Box is by far the most popular and most successful music talent that has come out of Israel. Influenced by Jamaican Dub, they combine the modern sounds of hip-hop, funk, gypsy-punk, and dance-hall beats, with electronics, while incorporating crazy-beautiful sounds of the clarinet. According to Wikipedia, Balkan Beat Box’s goal was to take ancient and traditional musical traditions and fuse those with hip hop in order to create a new mix of musical styles out of the traditional world music context that would appeal to listeners in a club or a dancehall.
Not familiar with Balkan Beat Box? Don’t worry, this is why we are doing these blogs, to provide you with music you may not know of or have heard little about. We feel that there is so much more good music out there than all this main stream pop that comes through our radios everyday. Not saying that there isn’t good music on the radio, we just want to help expand your musical horizon.
Want to check out more Balkan Beat Box? Below is by far their biggest hit, helping them achieve global acclaim. This song, “Hermetico”, was the most popular ringtone in Israel while I was there, along with “Stereo Love”, by Edward Maya & Vika Jigulina.
