Ragga emcee Sizzla is back with a new album entitled “The Messiah.” This remix of his song “Holding Firm” featuring, friend, G-Mac is FIRE! I haven’t heard any good Hip-hop oriented reggae in a long time. Sizzla surely delivers here!

Watch Janka Nabay in his new video– “Eh Mane Ah”
Lots of energy from Janka Nabay in the dance-hall/reggae jam. Grab the album En Yay Sah (which he recorded with the band Bubu Gang), to feel some more of these funky, make-ya-wanna-dance songs.

Wild Belle- “It’s Too Late”
What an amazing sound these two have created… that’s Elliot and Natalie Bergman of Wild Belle whom I was referring to. You can hear quite the combination of genres mixed together in this one song. Seems like they’d be great to see live, and I can only imagine that everyone’s off their seats, dancing away… Keep an eye open for more good music from Wild Belle, since they just signed a 3-album contract with Columbia Records. See You at Hangtown Halloween 2012, Oct. 26-28
After attending this year’s High Sierra Music Festival, I had met some folks (long time festival goers), who turned me on to what they referred to as “The best music festival of the year”, Hangtown Halloween. So you can imagine with little over a month away, and after just returning from Burning Man, I am overly excited to experience a weekend full of spectacular live music, dancing, and good people. This year Railroad Earth will be hosting the festival, while giving three performances throughout the weekend.
Besides looking forward to the entire festival blowing my mind, I can’t wait for a particular highlight, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe and their tribute to the Beastie Boys… this should be quite the show!Tickets are still available, so grab them while you can (link below), check out the full lineup for 2012 and catch the video footage from last year’s Hangtown Halloween below. So grab a few costumes, your tent, and I’ll see you there!

If you don’t do much reading, maybe it’s time to start! Wyclef has released his self-written book Purpose, a story of struggles with being an immigrant. It’s bound to be some good reading. To go along with this highly anticipated book, Wyclef has also given us a new music video where he explains in song how he came to be who he is today… Enjoy!

Everything about her is beautiful, meet and listen to Ava Leigh
“Simply breathtaking”, was my immediate response after first hearing then seeing the amazing Ava Leigh. Her voice is genuine, sweet, and full of soul. She’s also extremely gorgeous, so you can see how this combination could be deadly. It seems like she was doing mostly reggae before, but from the looks of this behind the scenes video, she has steered more towards the R&B/Soul/Jazz mode. Take a look and listen to this British gem to see what I’m talking about here… again, trust me, you won’t be sorry…
