Ive been crazy busy lately and so I haven’t been posting, so i guess that explains to some degree how much i enjoyed this song. I know Ive made it a point to say that I’m not a big fan of surf rock but now and again I’m pleasantly surprised and this song definitely fits the bill. Although the lyrics arnt that happy the song is undeniably upbeat and catchy. Well enough said, check it out.
Although mostly known for featuring on Rihanna’s single “Stay,” Mikky Ekko’s music falls in the vein of indy rock/pop. Hailing from Louisiana, he has a psychedelic sound and thought provoking lyrics. Check out his single “kids.” There’s definitely no RnB to be had here!
Sigur Ros is back at it again with more dreamy alt rock. This video is their newest from their album Kveikur that dropped mid June. It’s a very interesting video as well! Here’s to the hipster in us all.
Ok I know this is an old song but hey I don’t care, I do what I want. Maybe just slightly repetitive but I have no trouble looking over that. I’m sure you’ve heard it before but if not then enjoy away. FYI Fucked Up won the 2009 Polaris Music Prize, seem to love destroying things, and also enjoy long walks on the beach.
A sad song with a beautiful video from The Boxer Rebellion from their new album Promises.FYI Promises is the 4th album out from Boxer Rebellions a band started in 2001 in London, England but has members from all corners of the globe
A dreamy song with an old school feel from this new LA based group.Other then this being their debut single I couldn’t find much about the band.
Queens of the Stone Age was often mistaken for a Dave Grohl side project until he was only seen in one video but they kept kicking. Following the art rock tradition, these cats always put out solid stuff. Josh Homme is a beast. Here’s their latest!
